Spellbound is a Quest for Dragon's Dogma 2 (DD2). Spellbound is affected by the passage of time (during the scenario where Trysha casts her spells). You will meet a young girl named Trysha, she's curious about learning magick and will ask the Arisen for help to procure 5 grimoires. Interestingly, Myrddin also seeks the very same tomes that she's looking for.
You encountered Trysha, a young girl living with her grandparents on the outskirts of Vermund. Fed up with her dreary days, she dreams of only one thing: studying magick.
How to Unlock Spellbound Quest in Dragon's Dogma 2
This quest can be started by reaching Eini's Home. After meeting Trysha and Eini, the quest Spellbound will start. (Eini and Eino must be out of the house for Trysha to talk to you about the quest. You can pick them up and remove them from the house if you need to.) See Spellbound on the [Dragon's Dogma 2 Map].
Dragon's Dogma 2 Spellbound Quest Notes & Tips
- This quest does not unlock any other quest but is related to The Sorcerer's Appraisal, a quest where another man named Myrddin is also looking for the same grimoires as Trysha.
- This quest has multiple outcomes:
- You failed to help Trysha control her magick
- You gave Trysha the copies
- You helped Trysha control her magick
- This quest has no prerequisites
- This quest is canceled if you don't pick it up before ??
- By completing Spellbound and increasing their affinity with Trysha, players receive Conjurer's Jottings which can be used to unlock the Meteoron skill. This counts towards the Master of the Maisters gold trophy
Dragon's Dogma 2 Spellbound Quest Walkthrough
Gather the Grimoires
The first part of this quest involves procuring 3-5 Grimoires that Trysha is looking for. This guide will indicate their locations and how to retrieve each tome. NOTE: Two NPCs seek the same tomes and for 2 different quests. The other quest is The Sorcerer's Appraisal, where you must collect these books for Myrddin. Once you have collected enough tomes, it is possible to forge them by using Ibrahim's forgery service in Checkpoint Rest Town so you can decide if you want to give the originals to Trysha or Myrddin, or if you want to look for more original tomes to satisfy both quests.
This quest is best completed before The Sorcerer's Appraisal, since this will positively affect the latter.
We recommend giving 3 originals to Trysha as you will otherwise fail to obtain the maister skill. By giving her the real books instead of her father, you will receive 2 maister skills upon completing Spellbound. While there is an option to give her all 5 tomes, it is not necessary to get all of the quest rewards and doesn't seem to carry any additional benefits. This should leave you with 4 more potential original tomes for the other sorcerer Maister quest and save you some gold on forging.
Find Trysha at Eini's Home due North of Melve near the top of the map. To accept or progress her quest, speak to her when her grandparents are away, since they have forbidden her to study magic. If they won't leave the house, pick up Trysha (R2) and set her outside and then talk to her. Give her 3 of the 5 Grimoires she seeks at one time to gain the Turquoise Ring. Then wait a few days, speak to Trysha again, and give her the rest of the tomes (optional, you may tell her that the 3 tomes you have delivered are the last ones). The locations of the tomes can be found below, including Ibrahim's Shop. Make sure both grandparents are alive when on the step to check on Trysha studies. Eini can sometimes die, which was prevents her magic fenzy event. After reviving Eini back at Vernworth with a wakestone, you can progress the quest and get the Meteoron skill.
Let There Be Light: Located in Myrddin's Home, found on the desk upstairs. When stealing this from Myrddin, go through the balcony from the outside but not up the stairs from the inside. If he catches you, he will attack you on the spot.
Fulminous Shield: Purchased from Dudley in Melve [DD2 Map here]
Nation's Death Knell: Found in Ancient Battleground, located northeast of the Checkpoint Rest Town. The tome is found inside a chest located next to a cenotaph within the castle ruins (still part of the dungeon)
This book is also lootable in Waterfall Cave to the East of Borderwatch Outpost. The book is in a chest on the top floor of the cavern, and will spawn a Lich boss when looted. Warning: In each play through there are only two original Nation's Death Knell. If you already gave both of them to Trysha and Myrdinn, the quest Tolled to Rest cannot be finished, which will also influence the outcome of Off the Pilfered Path.
Howling Blizzard: Wendy from the Nameless Village wants to exchange the Howling Blizzard for a Fulminous Shield. However, you don't have to give her the original, because the collection will be incomplete and will force you to abandon the quest. Instead, ask Ibrahim in Checkpoint Rest Town to forge the Fulminous Shield and give it to Wendy
This book is also lootable in Waterfall Cave to the East of Borderwatch Outpost. The book is in a chest on the top floor of the cavern, and will spawn a Lich boss when looted.
Towering Earth: This can be acquired by speaking with Waldhar after he moves to The Gracious Hand's Vaults (see The Caged Magistrate and The Heel of History)
Outcome 1: Deliver the Grimoires
NOTE: Ibrahim is an NPC found in Checkpoint Rest Town. He can do forgeries for a fee, which is a copy of the original, but will not produce the same results as the original. Two NPCs seek the same tomes and for 2 different quests. The other quest is The Sorcerer's Appraisal, where you must collect these books for Myrddin. Your choice will affect the results of this quest and you may want to get copies of the Grimoires so you can give the copies to Myrddin should you have a hard time locating other original tomes, and the originals to Trysha.
After giving her 3-5 Grimoires, return to Eini's Home and you will find Trysha conjuring spells and she ends up attacking those close to her. NOTE: Do not attack Trysha because you will not receive the rewards that you're aiming for. You can either avoid the spells or maintain your distance. Wait for her spells to finish and then get near Trysha, and press RT to tackle her. You will see this window of opportunity when she stops to recover her stamina and that's when you can get near her. Alternatively, being a mage yourself allows you to use the "High Solemnity" or "Solemnity" spell on Trysha, thus stopping her from using spells further and allows you tackle her more easily and immediately. Alternatively, it is possible to kill Trysha and use a Wakestone on her body to bring her back to life. Return to Eini's Home again after a few days to check how Trysha is doing. This time the quest Spellbound will be marked as completed and she will give you the Conjurer's Jottings while Eini will give the Enchanter's Almanac.
If you have an issue where they aren't giving you the skill scrolls, you may need to increase their affinity. You can do this by giving them gifts (once per day) or completing escort quests for them. Once their affinity level is high enough, they will give you the skill scroll upon next speaking to them.
Outcome 2: You failed to help Trysha control her magick
This outcome happens in the instance that you fail to control Trysha after giving her the Grimoires. When you return to visit her at Eini's Home a few days after giving her the tomes, she unleashes her magick and is uncontrollable. Attacking and not tackling her at the right time will cause this outcome.
Outcome 3: Deliver the forged tomes to Trysha
The Walkthrough for this outcome is a work in progress. If the details are available, please feel free to add them here.
DD2 Spellbound Quest Objectives
- Gather the Grimoires
- Bring Trysha the Grimoires
- Visit Trysha after a few days
- Exhaust Trysha's magick reserves
- Check on Trysha after a few days
Spellbound Quest Rewards in Dragon's Dogma 2
This Quest has multiple Outcomes. You gave Trysha the forged tomes:
Living in the far-flung outskirts of Vermund with only her grandparents for company, it is hardly any wonder that Trysha came to be so fascinated with magick. Alas, the counterfeit grimoires you gave her aren't likely to see the specter of boredom banished anytime soon.
You gave Trysha forged books - Spellbound Reward:
- 2000 XP
- 3000 G
You failed to help Trysha control her magick:
Living in the far-flung outskirts of Vermund with only her grandparents for company, it is hardly any wonder that Trysha came to be so fascinated with magick. Alas, it seems her wish was doomed from the outset, as no sooner had her studies begun than her magick spiraled out of control. Unable to help her, you took her life instead.
You helped Trysha control her magick:
Living in the far-flung outskirts of Vermund with only her grandparents for company, it is hardly any wonder that Trysha came to be so fascinated with magick. But it seems her studies were forbidden with good reason, for no sooner had she begun to dabble than her magick spiraled out of control. Fortunately, however, you managed to exhaust her arcane reserves and stem the magickal deluge before it claimed her life.
You helped Trysha control her magick - Spellbound Rewards:
- 2,000 XP
- 3,000 G
- Cast Stone
- Conjurer's Jottings
- Enchanter's Almanac
Conjurer's Jottings
Enchanter's Almanac
are not quest rewards, those are affinity rewards
one from the girl the other from the girls grandma

Got the Aphonite Inclination Scroll right after completing this from Grandpa Eino

If you are the Magick Archer class, the skill Sedative Bolt can be use to put Trysha to sleep so you can tackle her.

Hi, I suggest you add extra information because this quest can be extremely frustrating. I spent 5 hours doing it, 3 of them after I gathered the 3 easy grimoires. Im going to leave my mini tutorial, but the only thing you should add is in the end.
TL-DR: Aini (and maybe Aino) can die right after you deliver the 3 grimoires to Trisha, and you can rest 127 nights by the campfire, that the scene where Trisha loses control wont trigger.
My tutorial:
1 Once you trigger the quest go get the grimoires in:
-Melve
-Vernsworth
-Checkpoint town.
2 Make the forgeries in Checkpoint town by passing time/resting in the bank at the tavern (pass time 4 times without getting up to get the forgerie ready to pick up, just press Y as soon as you rest and it will be fast).
Here is the info to add: Eini and Eino can die at any point before you do the quest, or DURING THE QUEST when you're camping nearby:
3 Go back to Vernsworth, check the morgue to see if Eini or Eino are dead, because they can randomly die AT ANY POINT.
4 Go to Melve and sleep in a inn to create a checkpoint save.
5 Grab 2-3 camping kits.
6 Walk with your 4 pawns and clear the way to the house, specially the area around the firecamp just by Eini's house.
7 Deliver the 3 original grimoires to Trisha, and check that Eino is alive (around the house) and Eini is alive (top of the mountain). If you cannot find them, restart, because one of them is dead and the quest wont trigger.
8 If they were both alive, camp untill morning, go check the house. Doesnt trigger the Trisha's out of control scene? Camp again.
9 If after 2 days camping, the scene doesnt trigger... Aini ****ING DIED the first night you camped and you have 2 options: restart or go to Vernsworth to resucitate her.
So that's why I spent 5 hours. My first attempt Trisha teleported away and died out of sight so I couldnt resucitate her.
My 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th attempts, Aini was dying after delivering the grimoires (on the fifth I didnt restart, went to Vernsworth and checked, and there she was).

Just to clarify, you dont actually get Conjurer's Jottings and Enchanter's Almanac from the quest. You need to speak with the little girl and her grandma and do both of their escort mission to get the skill book. The first one is from the little girl and the other from the old lady. I slept a day in the camp near their home to see if i would get their mission, one day for each.

Tip: pick the girl and carry her outside the hut if A: she won't start the dialog that gives you the quest and/or B: you don't want to wait for both of the grandparents to leave so you can give her the grimoires.
The quest is buggy and she absolutely would not give me the quest, read online to try carrying her outside to trigger the quest and it worked. Later no matter what time of the day I went I couldn't give her the grimoires because one of her grandparents was always in the house, so I tried the "carry her outside" trick again and it worked.

Also if you wear the ring you get from the quest you don't have to raise your affinity with the grandmother to get the mage spell as it says it signifies that you are friends with the girl.

You can actually complete both quests without any forgeries. I only knew of one quest and gave all 5 original tomes to the male wizard. I thought I was locked out of completing Spellbound then, but you can get three more of the requested tomes as copies. One you get from the ancient battleground on a pedestal, even if you completed the quest relating to it. The other two you have to be a thief to aquire. The first you get from pilfering Waldhar, the guy you smuggle out of jail and lead to a library. The other one is a bit more of a process. You have to have the battahli wandering merchant Arletta die so her sister takes up her trade and then pilfer it from her. (Elsa) Hope this helps. ^.^

If you can't get this quest to progress, check the morgue in Vensworth for Eini as the wiki article suggests.

I definitely give up on this quest. Not only the game provides NO CLUE AT ALL on where to find the quest itself, NO CLUE on who you should give forged tomes to, but when I do everything correctly (following a wiki like a 5y old boi cos again, the game gives NO HINTS) and then speak with that little s**t she gave me a stick and nothing else. His granma als didnt give me anything. No scrolls, no skills, no fun. Only a dumb broken quest.
Gonna get a mod and buy them for 1 gold, and then use meteors to nuke that stupid hut with everyone inside. Well played Capcom...

If you accidentally kill the girl, you can salvage the quest by immediately reviving her with a Wakestone. The outcome should be the same as if you tackled her.

I haven't seen Eino in my game at all. He isn't in the charnel house either. Guess I am not doing this quest.
- Anonymous
Here´s some info. Firstly you can stop her rampage with silence spell. Also her grandmother Eini constantly dies so its vice to investigate morgue. I suspect wolves locally or that annoying cyclops keeps killing her after beret guest.

Can't get the quest actually trigger? Because just going to their house probably won't do it.
Grab the the stupid girl Trysha and carry her outside to make it trigger (chuck her out for a bit of frustration venting).
I had a fantastic waste of time going back to their house 5 times trying to get this bugged to quest trigger.

I was able to complete all quests receiving the spell from Trysha and the Teaching from her grandmother after failing to keep Trysha alive. I used a wakestone on her after killing her during her use of magic.
- Anonymous
I attacked Trisha and I ended up being given only the Conjurer's Jotting after reviving her with a wakestone. Eini spoked to me but she didn't reward me with the other spell.
I ended up with 8 legitimate tomes. Including 2 copies of 'Nations Death Knell' and 2 "Howling Blizzard'. Even if you give 5 to Trysha there are enough to give 3 to the Myrddin.
- Anonymous
The second part of the quest, where she loses control of her powers won't trigger for me. The quest log says visit trysha in a few days time, but I slept for over a week and nothing.
- Anonymous
If you give her any forgeries, she says that she might not be cut out for magic and gives you a ring with no apparent effects.
- Anonymous
Also left 5 books in rest town and cant complete quest for Trysha, that is quiet stupid that cant get meteor in that game for now
- Anonymous
So I gave 5 original tomes to Myrwinn, since that is what the quest prompted me to do, and it let me do it. Am I just locked out of obtaining the reward from the girl? The only grimoire that has 2 copies is Nation's Death Knell. Why the **** did the game let me lock myself out of getting 2 class skills?
- Anonymous
You can getTowering Earth from Waldhar before informing him of thr archives, I spoke to him on his cell after he asks me to find him a place and he just handed me thr book.

Could anyone help me by lending a forgery of any grimoire except for The nations death? I do'nt want tô start a New game
ID EWJDT3WPW8QC
Anyone know a way to get Enchanter's Almanac if you can't complete Spellbound because you already gave all 5 tomes to Myrddin?
- Anonymous
Here's a tip: since you only need to give her and the sorcerer 3 books, you can actually do it only making a single fake of fulminus shield, there is a woman in the nameless village that will trade you a forged copy of fulminus shield for a legit howling blizzard, allowing you to give them both 3 legit books :)
- Anonymous
If someone is in the same boat as I was, where I gave all 5 to Myrddin so I had none to give to Trysha: what I did was gift the old man living with her 1 jasper and 1 onyx, and also I sent Trysha flying off an edge cause I got desperate (not sure if she has to die or not to trigger this), and next time I went to their house he gifted me the meteor spell without acutally doing Trisha's quest.
- Anonymous
PRO TIP: You only need 3 grimoires to complete both quests! I missed Fulminous Shield, but giving 3 at once advanced me in both quests :)
- Anonymous
What do I do if I accidentally sold some of these grimoires to a vendor?
- Anonymous
If you didn't get Enchanter's Almanac from Eini after use wakes tone to Trysha
-Escort Eini(Granma) and Trysha
-Give Eino(Granpa) some gift
-Eini will give you Enchanter's Almanac immediately
I think it is Eino(Grandpa) Aff is not enough is the cause
- Anonymous
Make sure both grandparents are alive when on the step to check on Trysha studies. Eini had some how died in my world, which was preventing her magic fenzy event. After reviving Eini back at Vernworth with a wakestone, I was able to progress the quest and get my sweet Meteoron skill.
- Anonymous
After a few trial and errors I managed to attain both master spells. It worked after:
- Building up some affinity with Eini and Trysha (plus gifting them)
- Completing an assigned escort mission for Eina and Trysha separately
- Checking back once per day at the nearby campfire (I stocked up 3 camping kits)
I think the reward system is just a little funky at the moment. Eventually the 2 will prompt u and hand over the spells.
- Anonymous
I found Nation's Death Knell and Howling Blizzard as a drop from the Wight in Waterfall Cave.
- Anonymous
What if i already gave out my fulminus shield to trysha before doing the rest of the spells? how do i recover from that or how should i be able to duplicate it?
- Anonymous
it would have been nice if this were a little more explicit to DO NOT give her forgeries or else you will lose out on the good rewards. kicking myself right now that i passed the time via an inn so i cant even relog
- Anonymous
got all other rewards but no Enchanter's almanac, great game
- Anonymous
The info on this page is wrong you won't get Conjurer's Jottings or Enchanter's Almanac right after completing the quest spellbound you have to do a escort mission for the girl and tgen her grandma to get those rewards
- Anonymous
Тут теперь такой вопрос. Что делать если я продал случайно один том ещё до квеста
- Anonymous
Grab grandpa and grandma and carry them out of the house and then talk to the girl

Can't get the quest. I'm returning there for 3 days since my travel to Melve, and all I get any time of the day is "Why don't they allow me, not fair" line. Tried to disquise as a mage but no difference :/
Encountered a bug where I finished Sorcerer's Appraisal first and gave the forged books to her dad. But after I gave all the original books to Trysha, she gave me the ring and wont initiate the rampage despite me resting for over 2 weeks.
What I did was just go to my last inn save (thankfully it wasnt too far) and it only took me 1 rest on the nearby camp before the rampage initiated
