New Game Plus (NG+) in Dragon's Dogma 2 is an unlockable playthrough after completing the game at least once. In Dragon's Dogma, a New Game + playthrough starts with the game having reset back to the beginning, albeit with several elements carrying over from the previous playthrough. These elements are character Vocations and Skills, experience and levels, currency and Items and so on.

Dragon's Dogma 2 New Game Plus Guide

Is there New Game Plus in Dragon's Dogma 2

  • Yes, New Game Plus is available in Dragon's Dogma 2. This feature becomes available when you beat the game, credits roll, and you return to the main menu.

What Carries Over in New Game Plus

There is an abundant amount of categories that carry over when starting New Game Plus in Dragon's Dogma 2, these are:

  • Gold and RC
  • Progress on Vocations
  • Current XP, Level/Stats, Skills
  • Your created character and Pawn
  • All Items and Weapons except quest-related valuables

How do I Retrieve my Items in New Game Plus

When you load NG+, you'll start at the beginning of your journey which is the quest "Gaoled Awakening" in The Hole. Simply progress the main quest until you come across any inn to access your storage.

Are there Multiple Endings in Dragon's Dogma 2

Yes, there are multiple Endings. And without spoiling anything away, there is a "True Ending" here that players could potentially miss. So if you have that gut feeling that "something isn't right". We highly recommend to not choose the option "Restart game with current level and equipment" but instead, load from last inn rest or load from last save to have another shot of witnessing the true ending.

NOTE: Players cannot continue playing in their world when they witness the true ending. The only option is NG+.

Can I Change the appearance of my Character

Yes, you can do this at any "Barberies" that are commonly found in settlements. You can find one in Vernworth. However, changing your appearance will cost gold and requires the Art of Metamorphosis.

How do I use New Game Plus in Dragon's Dogma 2

Upon beating the game and if you let the credits roll until the end, you'll return to the main menu and find three options

  • Restart game with current level and equipment
  • Load from Last Save
  • Load from Last Inn Rest

Choose the first option "Restart game with current level and equipment" to start New Game Plus or NG+. By selecting this, a message will show that explains what carries over in NG+ while also losing ALL quest progress for both Story and Side content. This means you will start at the very beginning of the game. If you understood the message, select "Yes".

Another message will then appear that says "Are you quite sure? This is not a decision to be made lightly. It may be wise to confer with others who have had similar experiences before you make your choice. Have you given the matter some more thought? Do you still wish to proceed?". This translates as a warning message and hints that you can cancel going into NG+ so that you can try to acquire the True Ending if you haven't. If you still wish to proceed, select "Yes".

This will follow up with two more warning messages that ensure you want to start NG+. It even suggests that you might want to check in with your friends, the community, or fellow players to find clues and learn more about how to witness the True Ending or the other endings. If you agree or choose "Yes" to the fourth warning message, the game will take you over to New Game Plus for a new playthrough.

If you're unhappy with the difficulty or content in ng+, why don't you use mods? I've installed plenty of them after 30 hours because I noticed the game's unbalanced and had a great experience.

Anyone know what happens regard trophies linked to collect x number of…

For example seeker tokens - if you have say 40 and move into NG+ does the in game counter reset and you have to start from 0 and they’re all replaced or what?

So cant find this anywhere but when starting NG+ I know we can recustomize both Arisen and Pawn but is it limited like the Tome at the barbers or can we change gender and race as well? because I had wanted to do a playthrough as a beastren at some point and figured NG+ would be fine for that but after seeing mutiple outlets saying that changing race is impossible after the initial creation.

Got hardlocked on a cliff....to high to jump down, invisible wall/boarder kept me from progressing farther and I couldn't go back the way I came because it was too high of a jump had to restart from my last inn save and it was 5 hours gone....

So disappointing. Difficulty is same crap as in first game. After a certain lvl like in Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen (lvl 200) you become OP in core game even if you purley lvl up only one class. And now in DD2 there is no lvl cap. Disappointing.

guys.... just backup your savegame before chosing an ending / entering NG+. its easily done and can save you a lot of headache

new game plus is worthless is this game if your keep your character save and start over. you are way too overpowered for everything and it just feels pointless and boring to demolish everything as you basically run around for items and bosses you didnt find the first time around. definitely would rather have more than one save slot in that case so i dont have to delete all my progress.
