Items in Dragon's Dogma 2 is a list of all obtainable items available in-game. These Items can be obtained in various ways, including as Enemy drops, in chests around the world, as a reward for finishing a Quest, through crafting, etc. Players need to be mindful about what's in their bag as Items, along with all their Equipment contribute to carry weight. Carry too much and your character becomes over-encumbered, reducing movement speed and preventing you from picking up any more Items. This page will be updated with more information as well as lists of Items when the game is fully released.

What are Items in Dragon's Dogma 2

In the previous game, Items were divided into the following categories depending on what they were used for:

  • Curatives: Items used to regenerate your resources. These items range from health regeneration items to Stat-boosting items.
  • Tools: Items used to accomplish specific tasks, from inflicting Debilitations on enemies in battle to making travel easier.
  • Materials: Items used for Enhancement and the creation of other items.
  • Quest Items: Items used for specific Quests.

Curatives are basic consumables in the game that can restore the player's meters and cure Debilities, or even temporarily boost Stats. Tools are a mixed bag of consumables and reusable Items that help the Arisen as they explore dangerous territory. Materials are Items that are usually sold if not used for the Enhancement of specific Equipment. Quest Items are Items that have no other use apart from submission to certain NPCs to progress Quests, or to be kept inside the player's inventory for the same function. Apart from these basic uses, certain Items also doubled as possible gifts in the previous game for specific NPCs in order to greatly raise affinity with them. Vendor NPCs are able to sell you rarer wares or reduce the prices for availing their different services when the Arisen's affinity with them is high enough.

Item Combination in Dragon's Dogma 2

Aside from the different specific functions of different Items in the game, Items could also be used as ingredients for combining in the previous game. These combinations result in improved versions of these Items, greatly increasing their efficiency and efficacy, and are done through specific NPCs in the game. The resulting Items can then even serve as stronger materials for Enhancement, or ingredients themselves for more combinations.

It is yet unclear if the affinity system, Item Combination, or this categorization of Items is set to make a return in Dragon's Dogma 2, but players can expect a similar system, if not the same.
