The Heel of History is a Quest for Dragon's Dogma 2 (DD2). The Heel of History is not affected by the passage of time and gives the Arisen the task of searching for a boy named Malcolm who has discovered a room full of books in The Gracious Hand's Vaults.

In a land overrun with monsters, orphans are no rarity. The Gracious Hand provides for as many as it can, but one of its wards, a boy named Malcolm, seems to have gone missing.

How to Unlock The Heel of History Quest in Dragon's Dogma 2

This quest becomes available after donating food (twice) to Kendrick of Gracious Hand. He is found at The Slums area in Vernworth, outside The Gracious Hand building, near the ruined base of an old tower. [See Dragon's Dogma 2 Map].

• This quest does not unlock any other quest but the Vaults' discovery is vital to the progress of The Caged Magistrate.
• This quest does not have multiple outcomes.
• This quest requires you to donate food to Kendrick, twice, before the quest becomes available.
• This quest is canceled if you don't pick it up before ??
• You can get items from Malcolm and Kendrick by roaming the archives right after you complete the quest. Kendrick will give you the Logistician's Tome while Malcolm will give the Forager's Tome.

Ask around about Malcolm's location

To progress The Heel of History, you will talk to three kids in the slums around the Gracious Hand [Map Link]. Harvey is just north of the church digging around a broken house. Rick is east of the church looking out over the water. Aimee is inside the Gracious Hand, straight towards the back as you enter the building. Then, return to Kendrick where you first found him. He has an idea where this vault that the children speak of. Kendrick shows you that there is a hole that Malcolm could have used to pass through and after a short cutscene, a new path will be opened for you to go inside.

Look for Malcolm

Follow the stairs that will take you to the Gracious Hand's Vaults. The path is straightforward but will involve crossing a ledge. Then follow the path ahead of you. Once you reach a bigger area where the path is split into two (one on your right and one ahead), take the path ahead to find Malcolm. He reports that he found heaps and heaps of books, like a secret workshop. Follow Malcolm's lead as he takes you deeper into the Vaults that he has discovered.

Malcolm's absence caused quite a stir, but if not for the boy's curiosity, a discovery might never have been made: an archive, hidden in the vaults beneath the Gracious Hand and piled high with tomes of eld.
