Till Death Do Us Part is a Quest for Dragon's Dogma 2 (DD2). Till Death Do Us Part is affected by the passage of time. This quest can be picked up by speaking to Margit, the wife of Gregor, after you've heard of rumors that have been told of Ser Ludolph. Margit asks for your help to rescue her husband before it's too late.

The lecherous Ser Ludolph has no qualms about abusing his station to get what he wants. And when that happens to be Gregor's wife, he has the man sent on an impossible mission.

How to Unlock Till Death Do Us Part Quest in Dragon's Dogma 2

To unlock this quest, players must first hear the rumor about Ser Ludolph from an NPC named Oswald. He is located next to a fountain at the Noble Quarter of Vernworth, near the Townsend's Estate. Once you know of the rumor, speak to Margit who can be found outside the Watchhead's Home in Vernworth. See Till Death Do Us Part on the [Dragon's Dogma 2 Map].

Dragon's Dogma 2 Till Death Do Us Part Quest Walkthrough

Speak to Margit

Let us begin by mentioning that this quest is affected by the passage of time or is time-sensitive. You should aim to complete this quest if you decide to pick it up if so you can reach Gregor in time to help him. The main objective is to help him and ensure he doesn't die to acquire the maximum rewards of this quest.

As mentioned, before you can pick up this quest, you need to hear the rumor about Ser Ludolph who is keen on pursuing Margit, despite that she is married to Gregor. In our playthrough, we heard about this rumor from Oswald at some point after completing The Nameless Village quest. However, if you've progressed enough in the main story, make sure you speak to Oswald and learn about the rumor before speaking to Margit. Margit can find her outside the Watchhead's Home in Vernworth. See Till Death Do Us Part on the [Dragon's Dogma 2 Map]

When you speak to her, a dialogue option should appear. Choose "Ask about Ser Ludolph". She'll also tell you where you can find Gregor, which is at the Illdoers' Resting Place [See Dragon's Dogma 2 Map]. Since you know of the rumors, you will have another dialogue option, choose "Tell her of Ser Ludolph's plot", and she'll ask that you save Gregor. Make sure you accept to trigger the quest.

Outcome 1: Rescued Gregor

The correct outcome of this quest is that you successfully make it in time and stop Gregor's demise. After speaking to Margit, your next objective is to travel to the Illdoers' Resting Place within the Misty Marshes, situated northwest of Vernworth. We suggest you have a camping kit as you'll need it on your travel, there is a campsite about halfway when you're about to reach the location. When you arrive, you'll find Gregor fighting the Dullahan, a legendary creature in Irish folklore that is often depicted as a headless horseman.

When you arrive, be ready to aid Gregor and his men. Take note that the Dullahan is one of the most powerful enemies you'll face, so prepare all your recovery potions, items that can buff the team, and Wakestones. In this encounter, you're not supposed to defeat the Dullahan, but instead, just survive, aid your team, make sure Gregor does not die, and apply enough damage to make the creature flee. Once the area is safe, speak to Gregor, and report back to Margit. This will complete the quest and you'll receive the following rewards for saving Gregor: 2800 XP, 5000 G, x1 Steeled Virtue, and x1 Lustrous Targe.

Outcome 2: Failed to Rescue Gregor

For this outcome, it's somehow obvious that you failed to rescue Gregor from the Dullahan for some reasons:

  • He died during the fight with Dullahan.
  • You did not reach him in time.
  • You did not prioritize this quest and ignored the passage of time.
  • One possible outcome before you pick up the quest: Gregor's already dead. He can die early on at the start of the game during the quest "In Dragon's Wake" when you're accompanying him to Vernworth since you will be encountering many creatures as the unit travels on foot.

If Gregor dies during combat, the quest will be updated to report this news to Margit. Upon talking to Margit, she will express shock and grief over the passing of her husband. She will not attribute any fault to you for his death. This completes the quest, and you will receive all quest rewards as if he would had survived except for the Lustrous Targe.

DD2 Till Death Do Us Part Quest Objectives

  • Speak to Margit
  • Aid Gregor at the Illdoers' Resting Place.
  • Report back to Margit.

Till Death Do Us Part Quest Rewards in Dragon's Dogma 2

This Quest has multiple Outcomes. Outcome 1: You rescued Gregor.

Gregor returned to his wife none the worse for wear, foiling Ser Ludolph's latest scheme. All's well that ends well, but it seems prudent to tread carefully around the nobility in future.

Outcome 2: You failed to rescue Gregor.

Gregor fell prey to Ser Ludolph's horrid scheme, leaving his lady wife a widow. But poor Margit's troubles are far from done, as the lecherous nobleman has no intention of leaving her alone, and her prospects of fending off his underhanded tactics are surely as slim as her late husband's.

Oswald refused to give me the intel about Ludolph. I was standing in front of him at the fountain, browsing the net for a solution. After several minutes he suddenly started talking to me. So the quest trigger seems to be time sensitive.. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE DESIGN!

      • Anonymous

I did not complete Nameless Village before receiving this quest. In fact, I got this quest on my first visit to Vernworth before doing any of Captain Brant's quests... which ended up being quite a lot more than I could chew way down there at level 8 or so! Luckily, I had a wakestone.

I also want to note that I never heard about Ser Ludolph from Oswald. Instead, I heard about Ser Ludolph from Ser Gregor himself, right in front of his house in the noble district. I guess maybe he hangs out in Vernworth for a bit when you first arrive there before moving back to his usual post at the Borderwatch Outpost.

Not that its of any import' but I find it interesting that nobody has mentioned or noticed that Ser Ludolph isn't an NPC that can be found or spoken to, or even the dead body found etc. Its just some noblemen that is living in some house in the noble sector... It would of been super cool if they put a bit more work into the quest and let you find out who poisoned him or if you could make sure the job was done right.

          • Anonymous

Oswald randomly busted in to a house, blurted out the gossip, and dipped back out the door. I was in mid-dialogue with an NPC for House of the Blue Sunbright and he straight interrupted lol

Bring a wake stone. If Gregor dies finish the full Shan and revive him after it will update the quest to him being saved and not killed

              • Anonymous

They really pick the most dog ass location to save Gregor from the dullahan because most of the time he either gets launched into the water or walks into the water of his own accord. The latter of which is precisely what we he did to me on the way to the capitol. "Guess I'll just slowly walk into the river and kill myself." So yeah, a dog-ass location alongside with the game's most suicidal NPC.

Don't know why people are acting like this quest is trying to teach you something about limitations in being able to do everything.

So long as you don't talk to Margit, the time limit isn't active. I didn't talk to her until I was level 57, and Gregor was still alive in the fight. Even if he does, just use a wakestone on him in the morgue BEFORE talking to Margit to complete the quest. It treats it as though he never died.

If it's trying to teach you anything, it's about wakestones.

                  • Anonymous

Gregor died during my attempt I got the update about telling his wife he died, but I revived him with a wakestone and still got the best outcome afterwards

                    • Anonymous

So I killed the boss too fast and my quest bugged on second stage (help Gregor). So I took him with my hands and teleported to city with him. Then I carried him to his wife and quest finished as completed.

Requirements says you have to complete the nameless village quest AND learn about the rumor but i got this quest with only learning the rumor about sir ludolph. Haven't even accepted the nameless village quest yet, don't know if this is bug or how it's meant to be.

                        • Anonymous

I did this quest at Lv 20 first playthrough. Took a few game overs, but eventually I survived long enough or did enough damage (something like half a bar?) that the Dullahan disappeared. He had killed Gregor, so I returned to Vernworth and used a Wakestone on Gregor in the morgue, then reported in to him and Margit at their house as if he hadn't died and got all rewards.

I did have a friend's Lv 30 pawn helping so maybe that's why I could damage it.

To get this quest I found a guy called Oswald near a fountain next to Townsend's Estate, in the Noble Quarter, and then I went to speak to Margit, who was in front of Watchhead's Home.

                            • if you killed the dullahan too fast and gregor is bugged out next to his wife not being able to finish the quest, make sure to rest around 7 days in your house and go back so the dullahan respawns. make sure to not kill it this time

                              • Anonymous

Just did this quest by killing the Dullahan. I found out about the quest when a male NPC stopped me while running around. I love how Margit poisoned the noble. I'm wondering what happens if I don't tell her about the plot.

Quest us currently bugged, if you kill the dullahan the quest will get stuck on helping Gregor and won't ever complete. It's important to note that this quest is supposed to have 3 outcomes those being Gregor dying, the Dullahan running away, and the slaying the Dullahan. Gregor has unique dialogue of you kill the Dullahan.

This quest seems buggy and No, the trigger is not a rumor near the Stardrop inn (maybe it's suppose to be but I have wasted enough time there to know it's not in my game at least). You speak to Margit then you speak to Oswald. That gives you the option to ask Margit about Ser Ludolph. That triggers the quest.

I unlocked this quest at around lvl 13/15. Seeing it's a timed quest i decided to go there immediately. I fought him, but he oneshotted me every try i made.

So i ignored the quest but i0m level 20 now and it's still there.
I wonder what will make the quest disappear. Too much days? or maybe going throught the main quest?

                                      • Anonymous

I fought this boss at around level 30 and i facerolled over him. A pack of wolves is more difficult than this dullahan.
This fight is very easy, because there are always random pawns around they help you. This boss is defenitely not hard.

DONT kill the boss or the quest will stay at "help gregor blabla...". Fight slowly and wait for the boss to run away.

Getting the impression this quest is designed to teach you you can't complete all of them on your first play through

                                          • Anonymous

Just saying but, this quest is almost destined to fail, the time you get the quest, the fact that it's timed, and the boss is at an extremely high level area, not counting the fact the game drops fps over there, and the boss can simply just knock Gregor into the brine. You either know about this quest before hand and come back later somehow, or cheat. They didn't tell you, but it teaches you that you cannot save everyone

                                            • Anonymous

I have a weird bug where I ended up saving him, he got home, and the quest is still telling me to save him. Thinking about killing then reviving him.

                                              • Anonymous

Gregor got knocked into the water and the dullahan ran away on my part. Waited a few days, wakestone'd Gregor in the morgue, rested 'til morning and I got the "saved" Gregor completion reward when I finally went back to Margit.

Gregor was also, of course, blushing up a storm when I next spoke with him.

Manage to kill the Dullahan before he escape but gregor die during the fight. Use a wakestone to resurrect him, and he thanks me for the help and all but the quest still ask me to help.... Gregor leave the place but the other guard are just standing there.

Waited a few days to see if gregor make it back to his wife but after a week no change, seems the quest is borken

You do not need to do the Nameless Village quest or even trigger enough main story (Brant's questline) to unlock it for availability. Just speak to the fat nobleman standing by the fountain in the midst of the Noble Quarter in Vernworth.

Directions: on the map, the Comptroller's House is to the left of Watch Head's house (Gregor and Margit's house). Across the street from those houses is a stairway and the Townsend's Estate (that estate is directly opposite Comp). In front of the estate, to its left on the map, is the fountain. Find that fat guy there.

I was able to kill the Dullahan before it retreated and was able to talk the Gregor but the quest is now bugged and still tells me to find him at the resting place. His 3 guards are stuck there while he is back at his home with his wife but their dialogue is still the same as before
