Locations for Dragon's Dogma 2 (DD2) feature all discoverable locations and regions in the game. The events of Dragon's Dogma 2 take between the two nations of Vermund and Battahl. Vermund is a human kingdom, ruled over by the Sovran, a royal line of Arisen that comes into power by defeating the Dragon generation after generation. Battahl on the other hand is a kingdom of Beastren, a new race introduced in this sequel game, who live in their nation with their own unique culture and traditions. The game retains its vibrant medieval setting, filled with a variety of complex biomes and habitats, along with man-made settlements with dynamic areas like inns and cities filled with people.

Campsites in Dragon's Dogma 2

New to this sequel game, players will be able to set up camp in various spots throughout the world called Campsites. Players can only camp in Campsites if they have an Item called a Camping Kit. Camping Kits are consumable items that are used to set up camp Campsites. They can be bought from various Merchants, or found as loot as you explore. There are different iterations of the items, with the lowest quality ones, called Modest Camping Kits, being liable to be broken if your camp is attacked by Enemies. Therefore, it's imperative that you clear the area first before you set up camp anywhere. Without buying one, you can get your first Modest Camping Kit for free in the early parts of the game, during the events of the Side Quest, Brothers Brave and Timid.

Quests in Dragon's Dogma 2

Travelers, merchants, soldiers and other folk go about their daily lives. Preoccupied by their own objectives and motives, they all exhibit different emotions. At times, they may lead you to a quest by approaching you and asking for a favor. If a Pawn with knowledge of your current quest accompanies you, they can guide you to where you need to go next. In addition to the main story objectives, you can receive a variety of quests by speaking or appriaching with the inhabitants of this world and deepening your relationship with them. Of course, it is up to the player to accept the quest or to make use of the Pawn's guidance. Encountering Vendors will also be beneficial to you as you may buy and sell items to various vendors from different locations. Enjoy the freedom to shape your journey.

The Oxcart in Dragon's Dogma 2

This is a new traveling feature for the game that allows players to safely traverse and navigate through the new world. When traveling to a Location through an Oxcart, players have the option to close their character's eyes throughout the ride to effectively finish the ride quickly. This can be helpful when traveling at night so players can effectively skip through the perils of nighttime as they try to get to their destination. However, Oxcart rides can also be interrupted by ambushes by monsters or bandits and the like, resulting in a conflict that players will need to resolve to continue.

Day and Night Cycle in Dragon's Dogma 2

As in the real world, time is constantly passing in this world, and night eventually comes. The night is shrouded in deep darkness, and without a source of light to illuminate your surroundings, finding your way will be a challenge. You will want to be well prepared for the perils cloaked by the dark of night. If you find a campsite, you may choose to camp out for the night to alleviate fatigue and chat with your allies. Although the world becomes more dangerous during the night, there are certain quests or NPCs that can be available or accessed to you during the nighttime.

Battahl

Battahl is a nation established by a new race introduced in this sequel game called the Beastren. Beastren are humanoid beings with features of beasts such as their mane, the prominent part of their faces, and their skin or fur. So far Beastren has mainly been shown to have features of prominently feline creatures, like lions and leopards. Nevertheless, this race promises to be ferocious and tremendously formidable in battle. So far, the conflict surrounding the Beastren which the player will seemingly dive into revolves around the Beastren's empress, a woman called Nadinia.
