One-Eyed Interloper is a Quest for Dragon's Dogma 2 (DD2). One-Eyed Interloper is not affected by the passage of time. This quest will have you contend with a scheming Cyclops on your way to claiming your rightful title as the Arisen. As you begin your journey, a clever Cyclops blocks the path with large rocks and proceeds to hide among them to trap the next unwitting traveler.

As you make for the capital to prove your identity, a gargantuan cyclops crashes into your midst. Such beasts have little care for titles and destinies, it seems.

How to Unlock One-Eyed Interloper Quest in Dragon's Dogma 2

This quest unlocks as you reach the blockage along a shallow river on your way to Vernworth during the events of the quest, In Dragon's Wake. Destiny waits for no one, however, as you inevitably push onward to fulfill yours. Your decisions in this quest might shape your new journey. Note that this quest seems to not start for people who don’t have Gregor with them when they encounter the blockage, so make sure to check on whether or not he’s still accompanying you when you get to the river and the blockage. Dragon's Dogma 2 One-Eyed Interloper Quest Walkthrough

Defeat the Cyclops

This quest may be unlocked when the player gets to the disguised Cyclops down the river during the events of In Dragon’s Wake with Gregor. When you get to the river, Gregor will shout something about being trapped due to the rocks blocking your path. If you get close to the blockage, you’ll find that it’s actually a camouflaged Cyclops ready to attack.

This fight shouldn’t be too hard, but it still can be if you’re not careful. Keep hitting its eye as that’s its weak point. One way to deal a significant amount of damage and shorten the fight is to head to the other side of the river. You should see some rocks trying to block the stream of water behind it. If you get up on the path you came from, you can find powder kegs there that you can grab and then throw onto these rocks to cause an explosion.

This will free up the water behind it and flood the river, which will both deal massive damage to the Cyclops and destroy the blockage that’s hindering you from continuing. It’s recommended that you do this as the fight starts to avoid anyone in your party getting hit by the water. If you don’t free up the stream of water, defeating the Cyclops will trigger it to get freed up anyway. At this point, there can be multiple outcomes for the quest depending on what you choose to do.

Outcome # 1: Defeat the Cyclops With No Casualties

BEST OUTCOME: Nine times out of ten, if you freed up the stream and damaged the Cyclops with the flooding water, without hitting Gregor or any of his men, you’ll be able to quickly kill the beast without any casualties, which is the best-case scenario. After you defeat the Cyclops, Gregor will speak with you automatically and apologize for ever doubting you as the Arisen. As a reward, he’ll give you the Missive to the Captain, which will help you with your claim when you get to Vernworth. You’ll then be offered a choice of whether you want to venture to Vernworth yourself without any help, or you can travel there with Gregor via Oxcart. This will complete the quest.

Outcome #2: Defeat the Cyclops with Casualties

If you manage to defeat the Cyclops, but Gregor or any of his men die in the process, there’s a possibility that you won’t get the Missive to the Captain, as you don’t get any recognition from Gregor. Instead, you’ll have to hope that your word is enough for your claim as the Arisen when you reach Vernworth. We highly recommend that you prevent Gregor from dying so you can acquire quests related to him later on or even avoid using a Wakestone to revive him.

Outcome #3: Leave the Cyclops to Gregor and Run Away

While not the most recommended route to take, you can take care of the blockage by freeing the stream of water, and then you wouldn’t have to defeat the Cyclops to move forward. Choosing to do so will also not allow you to get the Missive to the Captain and Gregor and his men will continue to see you negatively.
