Creatures and Enemies in Dragon's Dogma 2 are the various neutral and hostile creatures the Arisen will encounter during their journey. Defeating some Enemies grants special materials that are necessary for crafting Items or Enhancing many Weapons and Armor. With the introduction of two main regions - Vermund and Battahl, and with the latter being a region mainly of a new race called the Beastren, a variety of new types of Enemies are sure to give players new experiences and challenges. Once the game has been fully released, this page will be updated with all the information on strengths, weaknesses, monster drops, and so on for Dragon's Dogma 2 Creatures and Enemies.
What are the Enemies in Dragon's Dogma 2
Certain Enemies are set to return based on the current gameplay footage available. Goblins and Harpies seem to still infest the wild explorable Locations of the game, along with larger Enemies like the Cyclops, the Griffin, and the Troll, who are able to disrupt the player's Oxcart rides. New Enemies have also been shown to make an appearance, as expected especially with the introduction of a second region and entirely new race in the Beastren.
Examples of these are the Medusa-like enemy, and the large Sphinx shown in the trailer. A new race called the Beastren was also revealed, creating a larger variety of personalities and characters. Of course, the end of the journey (or the beginning of the Endgame, as was the case in the first game), is marked by the inevitable battle against the Arisen’s Dragon who will hold his heart.
Combat in Dragon's Dogma 2
Dragon's Dogma 2 for the most part seems to retain the first game’s unique Combat system, showcasing the player mounting a flying Griffin as they deal damage to it. The new engine also allows for more creative and imaginative approaches to defeating Enemies. The dynamism of the environment allows players to interact with it in creative ways to ultimately defeat the foe in front of them. Examples in existing gameplay videos include destroying a dam to flood an enemy and dealing damage to a large foe's legs in order to topple it over a gap, which allows the Arisen and his Pawns to use the foe to cross the gap using the foe as a bridge as it tries its best to hang from the cliff. This immersive physics brings life to the Pawns, Enemies, as well as the NPCs, giving endless exciting possibilities to players.
