Portcrystals are implements that allow for a special fast-travel feature in Dragon's Dogma 2. Portcrystals are tools that can be turned into fixtures that players can position at certain key areas or Locations that they would like to return to later on, maybe even frequently. Important populated areas often already have a Portcrystal or two fixed in them so that travelers can teleport to them at any time. Players can then fix Portcrystals onto other Locations they'd like so they can have more options when traveling, other than Oxcarts. Players can teleport to Portcrystals by using Ferrystones.
- The earliest portable portcrystal in the game is a reward for the quest A Trial of Archery
Other Portcrystals you can obtain
- Completing the Side Quest A Trial of Archery.
- Completing the Main Quest Feast of Deception (changes game state!).
- Sphinx's Riddle of Madness. See A Game of Wits.
- Sphinx's Riddle of Conviction (If given a Portcrystal; Also works in NG+).
- Forest Giffin's Nest. See it on map.
- Bought from the Dragonforged NPC for 20 Wyrmslife crystal.
All Portcrystal Locations Guide in Dragon's Dogma 2
What are Portcrystals in Dragon's Dogma 2
Portcrystals are special Items that are placed in strategic Locations in order to be able to quickly travel to them with ease by using special Items called Ferrystones. Populated towns and cities usually already have a Portcrystal by default, so players can quickly teleport to them when the need arises, especially if they happen to find themselves in dire straits at night or in the middle of nowhere. These Portcrystals that are in towns or cities are permanent and cannot be moved by the player.
Players can also acquire their own Portcrystals in the game. When they do, they can place them wherever is strategic to them personally, so that they can travel to that Location quickly with a Ferrystone.

- Solve the "Riddle of Conviction" correctly. Give a Portcrystal to the Sphinx and you'll obtain a functioning duplicate.
Everything We Know About Portcrystals in Dragon's Dogma 2
How to Use Portcrystals in Dragon's Dogma 2?
When you have a Portcrystal in your inventory, you can simply go to your inventory to click it and use it to have it fixed on in front of you, wherever you may be. This will allow you to teleport to this exact spot using a Ferrystone when you need to. This can be used for spawn points where you might want to grind your characters' progress by defeating Enemies over and over, and then teleporting back to town to replenish and then teleporting back again. For endeavours like these, however, you'll need to have a supply of more Ferrystones.
Portcrystals that you put down can be retrieved and repositioned elsewhere if you need to. Players can have up to ten of these retrievable Portcrystals around the world at one time. Permanent Portcystals in towns and cities that are already fixed in place cannot be retrieved and repositioned. To use them any time, players just need to interact with them once.
Best Locations to Use Portcrystals in DD2
In Dragon's Dogma 2, there are only two permanent or stationary portcrystals and a limited number of portable portcrytals you can acquire. Here are our recommended locations to place your portcrystals:
- Sacred Arbor [DD2 Map]
- The Sphinx's Lair [DD2 Map]
- Bakbattahl [DD2 Map]
- Volcanic Island Camp [DD2 Map]
- The Dragonforged's Shop [DD2 Map]
What are Ferrystones in Dragon's Dogma 2?
Ferrystones are special Items that the player can use to teleport to any Portcrystal, whether retrievable or permanently fixed in a town or village. Successfully teleporting with a Ferrystone will have that item be consumed. Ferrystones can be found as loot around the world, loot from chests, or dropped by Enemies and Bosses.

you don't get another port crystal from the riddle of madness, you will get a counterfeit, but you can still duplicate a portcrystal

The fact that there's a permament portcrystal in Harve, just a short walk away from Vernworth, but not one in Bakbattahl half the world away is just stupid

havent done ng+ yet, but do you need to pick these up before doing so or do they stay in ng+? or do they just go back into your inventory?

Lets not forget that one can be purchased in the steam DLC section for $2.99.

Previous comments have various statements about getting a portcrystal or partcrystal in NG+ for the riddle of madness and riddle of conviction.
Here was my results:
In NG:
- I got both portcrystals.
In NG+:
- The riddle of madness (the beloved riddle) gave me the fake; a partcrystal.
- The riddle of conviction, after giving a portcrystal, gave me another genuine portcrystal.
I don't know if previous comments either:
A) Got their riddles mixed up
B) Lied
C) Accidentally gave the Sphinx a partcrystal for riddle of conviction
D) Perhaps already had the maximum possible portcrystals and perhaps the game just gives partcrystals after that. I only had 5 at the time I did the riddle of conviction in NG+.
E) There is something else going on.

So i tested it all , and i got 7 Portcrystal total in ng+
1. Completing the Side Quest Trial of Archery.
2. Completing the Main Quest Feast of Deception.
3. Sphinx's Riddle of Madness
4. Sphinx's Riddle of Conviction (If given a Portcrystal)
5. Forest Giffin's Nest.
6. Bought from the Dragonforged NPC
7. Sphinx's Riddle of Madness (NG+)
In NG+ Trial of Archery gave me jsut a Bow and Arrows,
Feast of Deception gave me a Panacea,
Riddle of Conviction gave me a Partcrystal,
Griffin Nest had a Ferrystone instead of a Portcrystal,
Dragonforged Portcrystal was still sold out.
You can delete my other comments and add this to the page. Verify yourself if you want .
I am not gonna do another ng , so not gonna do further testing

if you bought it in Journey 1

Portcrystal in Griffins nest is replaced with a Ferrystone in ng+
I think only if you collected it in a previous cycle

in ng+ the Sphinx's Riddle of Conviction (item dupe) gives you a fake portcrystal (Partcrystal)

There is a stationary Portcrystal, (Like the vernworth one), just outside Harve Village, behind the lighthouse next to the Rivage Elder

Found one in Forested Griffin's Nest before the Misty Marshes. It's west of capital, east of checkpoint rest town. Right in between, see map on this site.
Accidently stumbled upon it after riding a Griffin for 5 minutes. It dropped me to its nest, that's where the portcrystal was.
Every time an ad loads it inverts the background on the page such that text blends into the background and you can't see or read anything. It alternates about evert 5 seconds or so... very annoying.
