The Stolen Throne Quest Description

The Stolen Throne - Quest Start Description

The Sovran is said to be convalescing, and has yet to appear before the public. But if you are the one true Arisen, then who is this man now sitting upon your rightful throne?

The Stolen Throne - Quest Complete Description

Though the public has yet to lay eyes on the Sovran who claims the throne, you caught a glimpse of his true nature in a corner of the bordelrie. He is but a puppet, and the queen regent holds his strings, while a man named Phaesus plays some part as yet unknown.

The Stolen Throne Quest Objectives

  • Approach the false Sovran
  • Report back to Captain Brant

Approach the false Sovran

It seems like the false Arisen has recently recovered from his supposed "battle wounds," and the nobles have been holding masquerades every so often to celebrate his supposed valor. The captain suggests infiltrating this masquerade to try and get a glimpse of the pretender behind the mask, to maybe gleam any insight about him.

For this endeavor, you'll need a masquerade mask and some formal clothes. When you accept the quest, the captain will give you the Eventide Mask to start. As for the rest of the formal wear, we got ours by finishing the Side QuestThe Ornate Box. This quest involves revisiting a boy named Sven a few times. Completing it will reward you with the Courtly Breeches and the Courtly Tunic.

Make sure you have all three equipped and then make time pass until nightfall. Your destination will be Vernworth Hall at the Royal Quarter of Vernworth. Your Pawns will not be allowed in the Royal Quarter and will have to stay by the boundary. The Vernworth Hall is located at the western edge of the Royal Quarter. You can speak to the soldier in front of the building to see of there is a masquerade being held at the time. You can also tell if there's a lot of people coming in and out, with masquerade masks on.

As you enter, there'll be a short cutscene showing the false Arisen walking about. Further in, you'll find a lot of people to talk to, including one of them who recognizes you initially but dismisses the thought. They will all either be wearing masks or helmets as soldiers. You won't actually find the Sovran pretender standing or dancing around in the main room. Instead, head back toward the door and make a sharp turn into the circular hallway. Follow it to the west side of the building. There'll be two openings on the wall here. The southern one will have a chest as well as the Exquisite Spectacles on the wooden shelf, which you'll need for the Side Quest, A Magisterial Amenity. The northern one will have a chest containing Courtly Breeches and a Courtly Tunic, probably for you to sneak in and acquire if you couldn't find formal wear before.

In the middle of the two openings on the wall, you'll find a section of it that's partly pushed back. You can actually have your character go through it to reveal a hidden opening. As you enter this small room, you can find an Allheal Elixir on the desk in the corner. Head out the double doors to find yourself at the backside of the Rose Chateau Bordelrie. Follow the path north until you find an opening into the building and enter it for a scene.

Lady Wilhelmina will help you avoid the soldiers as you bear witness to the true personality of the false Sovran, as well as a glimpse into the masterminds behind the entire farce - Queen Regent Disa and Lord Phaesus, who notably was the person who seemed to recognize you at first in the dancehall. She'll help you with your escape and give you the Myrmecoleon Card afterward.

Report Back to Captain Brant

Exit the establishment and then head back to The Stardrop Inn. Report your findings back to Captain Brant. After you tell him about your experience, he'll come to the conclusion that the fake Sovran isn't privy to the Queen regent's schemes and is merely just a paid puppet. He'll tell you that he'll look into the Lord Phaesus and that completes this quest.

I seem to have just skipped this quest since I did An Unsettling Encounter before this one. As then I just got the Feast of Deception quest instantly after returning to Brant.

If you don't have the atire you can circle to the right of the hall. You'll find a low wall and below a balcony with an open window. I jumped and made it quite easily and after wandering the building for a bit met lady wilhemina. Completed the quest just fine but missed the scene for the party.

          1. You can buy it.
          2. Quest reward from Sven quest.
          3. Inspector house.
          4. Vernworth Hall
          5. Vernworth Castle - in Sven room.
          6. Vernworth Castle - guest room.

          • If you sold every Courtly outfit in Vernworth including the one from Sven and don’t want to spend 300k, you can still complete the quest. What you need to do is go into the masquerade building, take the left or right hallway to the back. There’s a hidden door that looks like the stone wall. Go through and outside. It’ll lead you to a door to the Rose Chateau. Head in and watch the cutscene.

This might require you to meet Wilhelmina and/or completing the Unsettling Encounter quest.
