Clash and Conclusion is a Quest for Dragon's Dogma 2 (DD2). This quest will only start if you've completed the quest, Tensions on the Highroad, as you climb the Moonglint tower in the latter part of the story. If you've been following his little questline, Raghnall has been wanting to try his hand against you in a fair one-on-one duel. It seems he's been hired by Phaesus as his bodyguard, so finds this as the perfect time to finally get that duel going. This quest is affected by the passage of time and has multiple outcomes.

When you reached the tower, you found your path obstructed by the storied mercenary, Raghnall. He seeks a challenge, and would have you earn your way through glorious combat.

How to Unlock Clash and Conclusion Quest in Dragon's Dogma 2

This quest is unlocked automatically as you head up the Moonglint Tower in between the Main Quests The Guardian Gigantus and Legacy, but only if you've finished Tensions on the Highroad beforehand. See Clash and Conclusion on the [Dragon's Dogma 2 Map].

Dragon's Dogma 2 Clash and Conclusion Quest Notes & Tips

  • This quest does not unlock any other quest
  • This quest has multiple outcomes:
    • You can defeat Raghnall during the duel which will effectively kill him. You can revive him with a Wakestone afterward, however.
    • You can also damage him minimally and grapple/pick up/pin him for a different outcome. Just keep doing it until a cutscene plays.
    • If you have anything to open the gate behind him, you can flee from Raghnall altogether for a different outcome.
  • This quest requires you to finish Tensions on the Highroad beforehand.
  • This quest is canceled if you don't pick it up before starting the quest, Legacy.

Dragon's Dogma 2 Clash and Conclusion Quest Walkthrough

Defeat Raghnall

During the latter events of the quest, The Giant Gigantus as you make your way up the Moonglint Tower to chase Phaesus and start the next quest Legacy, you'll be stopped at one of the higher floors by Raghnall. The infamous mercenary was hired by Phaesus as a bodyguard and will see this very moment as the best chance to finally have that duel he's anticipated since he met you back in Bakbattahl.

clash and conclusion1 finaledit side quests world information dragons dogma 2 wiki guide

This fight can be difficult as a caster, but other than that it shouldn't be any more difficult than fights you've had up until now. You will be alone, as your Pawns will honor the duel. You'll be facing him on a narrow corridor, but there's just enough space for you to dodge around while attacking him, which is what you should do as an Archer or Magick Archer. His Vocation is a Fighter and he wields a Sword and Shield, so expect all the Skills that come with these traits. If your vocation is Trickster and you lacked the ability to deal damage directly, you can either unequip your censer for melee punch or to use consumable tome items to cast spells. Alternatively, you can simply grapple him and either throw him off the bridge or to spare him.

Outcome 1: Defeated Raghnall

Eventually, the mercenary will go down and lose to the Arisen's awesome strength. This outcome will have him die by your hand. Before he dies, he'll express that it was a hard and wretched life and that he doesn't mind this conclusion. At least he died fighting you.

NOTE: Like all other NPCs, you can revive him with a Wakestone if you want to. This doesn't immediately do anything however, and he'll even just walk away like nothing just happened. If you speak to him he'll keep saying the same thing over and over. Later on, however, when you visit your home in Battahl (provided you acquired one), you might find a Newt Liqueur waiting for you, courtesy of our intrepid mercenary.

Outcome 2: Raghnall Departed

After avoiding killing him, which is easiest achieved via grappling, picking up, or pinning him down, he will realize that the Arisen doesn't want to fight him and will decide to leave. He will express his desire to fight in the future, hand over the key, and depart.

Outcome 3: Fled from Raghnall

The Walkthrough for this outcome is a work in progress. If the details are available, please feel free to add them here.

After the pain of trying to do Talos as Trickster, you get this easy fight right after. Either kill him by making him fall off, or get the better reward and time him out with either Illusive Divider or Visitant Aura. It seems not killing him is the best as you get the key, a weapon, and gold.

If I want to romance him, Is reviving him with a wakestone the best option? Does he disappear from the game otherwise?

I killed him by knocking him off the edge. I then chose to sit on the throne in the epilogue, then load my last save and select to go to the unmoored world.

Raghnall showed up as alive in the Unmoored world, not sure if it auto revives all NPCs or not.

This fight is not balanced for sorcerers. Either he rushes you and stun locks you to death, or you manage to keep enough distance and stun lock him to death. Fun.

My Mystic Spearhand instantly paralyzed him and threw him out of the tower.
