Welcome to the Walkthrough Guide for Dragon's Dogma 2! Your journey begins at the Excavation Site Gaol where we find Fiska interrogating a group of prisoners. This sequence will allow players to choose a preset from the group of prisoners or select the one that is hooded to customize their character's appearance from a blank slate. To learn more about creating your character, you can visit the Character Creation page. Take this time to customize the look of your character, choose your starting Vocation (Fighter, Archer, Mage, or Thief), and name your character.

Upon controlling your character, follow Fiska the Overseer, and the other prisoners toward "The Hole". Continue along the wooden pathway and you'll meet another prisoner named Rook who advises you about not angering the overseer and to continue towards the site. You will now be accompanied by Rook, cross the wooden bridge, immediately go right and head down the slope where you'll rendezvous with the other prisoners and the overseer.

Start Picking Up Boulders

Your next objective will then be updated which requires you to deliver a boulder. Begin by picking up a boulder that's ahead. Go straight towards the wooden scaffolding to find a boulder and carry it back to Rook. Upon bringing the rock, a sequence will trigger that shows a disturbance in one of the site's areas. Rush to the area alongside Rook and follow the other prisoners who are running up the slope. When you reach the top, a cutscene will trigger showing a gorgon attacking the site.

Fight the Gorgon

During the cutscene, depending on your chosen Vocation, your character will find and wield the weapon the vocation is proficient in. For our gameplay, we've chosen the Mage vocation who picks up a Staff to fight. In this battle, you'll fight alongside other NPCs so you won't have to worry about fending off the beast on your own. Depending on your vocation, you'll be able to use basic attacks, skills, and combat movements as soon as the battle starts. You will also be prompted with a guide on how to grab and throw objects at targets.

When fighting the Gorgon, be sure to move away from its radius when it tries to use its gaze to turn its prey into stone. In our gameplay, we were always at a safe distance as we attacked the Gorgon with a long-range attack of Magick Bolt. You will also learn how to grab onto large enemies where you can cling onto their bodies and press the corresponding button to attack, but be wary of this since it will continuously consume your stamina. Upon its health reaching zero, another cutscene will trigger that shows the Gorgon fleeing from the place of battle.

Flee the Site

A mysterious specter then appears advising you to flee while you have the chance, and Fiska the overseer catches you and Rook making a run for it. The scene quickly transitions to controlling your character, be ready to run towards the cliff to escape the guards. Do not stop and keep running until you reach the cliff, if the guards catch up to you they will attack you and you'll die if your health becomes fully depleted. Another cutscene will then trigger when you reach the cliff where you'll watch as your character jumps off and rides Griffin towards the skies. As you fly across the landscape, the Griffin will be shot down by another group where you'll land and awaken at the Ultramarine Waterfall — this quest will formally be completed after the cutscene once your character has regained consciousness.
