Dragon's Dogma 2 Gift of the Bow Quest Walkthrough
Make for Glyndwr's place of training
Speak with Glyndwr in Vernworth, he is located right next to Roderick's Smithy. He will ask you for a Human bow, and if you present him with one it will unlock this quest. Afterward, he will tell you to meet him past Trevo Mine, which is Northwest of Vernworth a good distance. Once you arrive there you will demonstrate to him how to use the Bow, and he will then mimic you, and the quest will be completed. NOTE: You can only demonstrate how to use the Bow if you yourself are an Archer, so it's best to swap to Archer before heading out past Trevo Mine, or else you will have gone a long way for nothing.
Once this quest is completed if you head back to Vernworth you will find Glyndwyr near Roderick's Smithy once again and A Trial of Archery quest will begin if you speak with him, which takes you to Sacred Arbor.

Dude has you walk all the way north just so you can shoot one arrow in front of him.
Then you have to go all the way back to the city just so he can ask you to once again travel all the way north. Lol.

Not sure what others are talking about saying they're able to finish this quest without being Archer. I was unable to do it as Thief.

I finished this quest as a fighter, so you don't need to be an archer at all.

This leads to another quest if you find him again at Vernworth
Archer, Magick Archer OR Warfarer all work fine. You just need to be able to aim with a bow and shoot the banner targets hanging from the bridge.
