Rings in Dragon's Dogma 2 are items that the player uses to obtain several bonuses and buffs to its Stats, Rings unlike other equipment don't have a Vocation restriction.

These are the various methods of acquiring Ring of Proximity:
- Located in a chest between Vernworth and Sacred Arbor southeast of Mountain Ruins [Map Link]
- Located in a Harpy nest on some rocks northeast of Riftstone of Agility [Map Link]
- Completing Gift of the Bow rewards you with a Ring of Proximity.

- Does not work with Magickal Bows, regardless of wether the damage applied is physical or magical.
- Players can equip up to 2 Rings at the same time.
- You can gift this item. It will give 10 points of favor to an NPC that likes the item.
Here are the results of my testing :
- This ring offers 3 levels of boosted damage depending on how close you are to the target :
If we consider the lantern's light radius to be roughly 10 meters you would get the following bonuses :
~6.5% bonus damage when standing between 7 and 4 meters from the target
~13% bonus damage when standing between 4 and 1 meters from the target
~20% bonus damage when standing at point blank range, so 1 meter and under from the target
- Having two of these rings stacks their bonuses additively for a total of ~13% < ~26% < ~40% bonus damage.
These values may be slightly incorrect, so feel free to correct me if you find evidence that i'm off in my calculations.

You can also get it by using the thief's skill "pilfer" on one of the wandering merchants. The wandering merchant in question is a woman with white skin and short hair, on her backpack there is a sword on her right side and arrows on her left side. I met her in Harve Village though se may be elsewhere.
