"I was doing some testing using a mod that shows damage numbers and I think I have a good grasp on how the ring works now. First is that the magic number is 10kg. If you have 10kg or less weight you get the maximum bonus from the ring. Once you hit 10.01kg it's effectiveness gets cut in half. With 321 strength I punched a goblin

No rings: 480 damage One ring: 586 damage Two rings: 692 damage

Using verve to boost strength by 30 gives me 50 more damage so I assume 1 strength = 1.66 damage with fists. 106 damage then would be a strength boost of ~64 points which is nearly exactly 20% of my base attack.

I also tried the ring out with a couple different greatswords but the damage difference between each hit was the same at around 131 extra damage per ring. This leads me to believe the ring increases damage based on your BASE strength without the extra attack from your weapon.

So I think at 10kg or less it's +20% base strength added to damage per ring. This makes it much more effective than the +30 str rings at higher levels. It also seems like each weapon has a damage modifier that determines how much strength influences the damage of each hit."

have you tested with weapons? i don't have that mod but to me it seems like the higher the innate weapon damage the less dramatic the difference is, like there's scaling going on, but i could be mistaken

Tested this with a damage number mod on, punching the same hobgoblin.

          343 - raw punch - no rings
373 - with just one strength ring (+30 str)
384 - with 1 ring of brawn, UNDER 20kg weight
425 - with 1 ring of brawn, UNDER 10kg weight
506 - with 2 ring of brawn, UNDER 10kg weight

Neither Thew nor Dynamism affect the damage. The thresholds are being under precisely 20kg and then 10kg carried on your person, regardless of total weight you can carry and weight rank. I couldn't raise the number any higher by lowering equip weight beyond that. So being 19.99kg or lower will give slightly more damage than a strength ring, while being 9.99kg or lower will give substantially more damage (little under 24%) and they do stack.

The ring is bugged, and does not apply any strength boost.
No matter what carry weight (even tested to see if my 52kg pawn would affect it) will not boost strength.

Have tried all carry loads, and on an 84kg character and 52kg pawn.

Acquired on a backpack stuck to the door of your house after doing Beren's quest up to when he goes to checkpoint rest town. May take a few days for him to send it.
