Dullahan is an Enemy in Dragon's Dogma 2. Dullahans appear as spectral mages in the night and can be identified with their long capes and glowing blue disembodied skull.

Dullahan is a knight covered in a spiritual purple flame, cradling his own head in his arm. He engages in deadly swordplay with a firm stance. In the dark, he transforms into black mist and stalks the living.

DD2 Dullahan Enemy Information

Dullahans are new enemies in Dragon's Dogma 2. They spawn at night close to dawn, and carry a glowing blue skull through which they channel their magick. Be careful while fighting them as they have magicks that can hold the player in place, knocking them down after the full cast. The Dullhan is encountered during the quest
"Till Death Do Us Part", or spawns at random locations along roads and by bridges. A Dullahan's presence is signalled by a dense fog which extinguishes the party's lanterns.

Dullahan Enemy Combat Guide for DD2

Due to the Dullahan's strong melee capabilities and Area of Effect (AoE) attacks, a ranged strategy utilising either spells or archery is most effective. Vocations with protective skills – e.g., a Mage with Palladium / High Palladium or a Mystic Spearhand with Mirour Vesture / Mirour Shelde – will be invaluable during this fight, as will any skills or weapons that are capable of inflicting Holy Damage. Ice Damage has little effect. It is recommended that your Arisen and their pawns are at least level 30 before trying to take on the Dullahan.

If playing as one of the aforementioned vocations, activate the relevant protective skill immediately before or as soon as combat begins. This will shield your pawns and player character from any initial damage when the Dullahan unleashes its scream attack, which inflicts the Unconscious debilitation. This attack cannot be Silenced. From that point onwards, keep as much distance as possible between your character and the Dullahan, and rely on ranged attacks – but beware its teleportation attack. Its weak point is the glowing skull.

Due to the Dullahan's AoE melee attacks, evasion is difficult and often futile, which means that melee-based Vocations will need to make good use of blocks or counter-attacks. Thieves will have an advantage with Swift Step, and their Implicate skill may interrupt the scream attack if targeted at its skull. Likewise, Mystic Spearhands will find the skill Skiedragoun's Fangtooth / Skiedragoun's Feste invaluable for swiftly evading attacks.

Because the Dullahan will flee as soon as day breaks, it is best to use skills with high damage-dealing potential to defeat it quickly.

for what ever reason, when i fought it, it kept focusing purely on my mage healer. Which is weird because im the teams warrior tank, with the 100% aggro perk, and she has the perk that makes enemies less likely to attack her, and she doesnt even have any attack skills.

When it was putting us in the dirt, my healer was constantly healing us, and then after that, it focused on her and she was getting tossed around like a rag doll the rest of the fight until we finally killed it.

I guess the dullahan does not like the fact she was constantly healing us, but then again, maybe the healing was doing major damage like it does to other undead. I guess it must be an undead and not a ghost or something.

        I just fought one.
on the road from bakbattal, going to the vocanic island camp, theres a bandit village thats full of bandits the road to the island camp cuts through, right before drabnirs grotto cave. At night time I was fully exploring that bandit village, and then all of a sudden, i was hearing this weird noise, and a glowing light at the bottom of the village as I was up high, and next thing I know, all our lanterns went out, and I tried to turn it back on, and nothing. Then out of no where it just appeared right in front of me and the battle started.

I guess what they say about it appearing near bridges is true, because in that bandit village is two bridges.

You can find these guys everywhere in the unmoored world and almost any bridge you come across will have one.

Easily the most annoying boss in the entire game. Not only is it hard to find, it also spams aoe stuns and incredibly long grab attacks, which makes it nearly impossible to kill it within the short time window you have before it leaves. Best to cheese it with one of the one-shot combos.

              How to find a Dullahan:
They like to appear on roads and bridges.

Their general vicinity is covered in dense fog which turns off your lantern and prevents it from being reignited.

              How to fight a Dullahan:
They are weak to holy (duh).
Their attacks are slow and easy to counterattack or block. Evading them might be difficult since some have AoE and you'll get hit even if you dodge their weapon itself.
They like to scream which always stuns you and cannot be blocked by Silence, but this leaves them to ranged attacks or melee interruption if you have high Knockback. Thief's Implicate works wonders to prevent the scream if you manage to hit their head.

Found near the ancient battleground. Follow the mountain path heading west to Checkpoint Rest Town til you find a small grove with a forgotten riftstone and a campsite. Directly south of a Riftstone of Fellowship.

I found one on the way from Melve to Vernworth, I used all my wakestones on him and got saved by the daylight. All my pawns got wiped and i barely dealt any damage lol this guy is my sworn enemy from now on

                  • Anonymous

These are tough to fight if you are a melee vocation. Everything this guy does will leave you faceplanted in the dirt and it will sometimes repeatedly spam its attack that instantly knocks you unconscious if you're too close. The excessive particle effects also make it hard to see what the hell it is doing most of the time. Most of all watch out for its sword combo attacks since even as a warrior it will take half or more of your health bar and leave you face planted in the dirt for a follow up attack which it will most likely take advantage of.

One spawned for me near the Checkpoint Rest Town. From Riftstone of the Fanged (graveyard area where all the oxen are(a Wight also spawned in this area for me)), follow the road south/south-west going toward the Rest Town. Spawned in the rocky underpass where the explosive barrels are. Same area where harpies and bandits spawn during the day and undead during the night.
As others have mentioned there was dense fog, extinguished my lantern and he spawned. I was only around level 25 or so and he murdered me. Tried to go back to the same area multiple times but he hasn't spawned since.

I actually met him while walking from Melwe to the main city on the bridge next to the riftstone of remembrance, he appeared from the spirit that captured me

I tried searching for the one near the first area of the game and could not find anything, tried for 2 days in a row too. Does on actually spawn there?

                          • Anonymous

There is one in the Unmoored World if you follow the river that is just outside Vernworth, basically if you go the opposite way you need to go to fight the boss there.

Admin: consider adding that you can know you’re in the vicinity of a dullahan if you suddenly walk into an area of dense fog. If it extinguished your lantern, prepare for a fight!

On another note: I ran into one that spawned in the middle of a bandit camp I found in Battahl. Nearly wiped my party. We were all level 93+ but we didn’t have Holy damage.

                                Dullahans spawn only near dawn.
Tested at the campfire west of the Mountain Base Cave entrance in Agamen Volcanic Island, a Dullahan can spawn there pretty consistently.
Its also worth mentioning that they despawn in the morning, meaning that you have a short period of time to defeat them.
                                Good hunting

He can be found at a camp in a road below Trevo Mine, but I don't know the conditions for it to respawn, I'dont know if there are other locations too.

One at Ruined Settlement east of Vernworth. I stumbled upon it early and now that I'd like to battle it I can't seem to trigger it. Cool mist effect when you close in when it's spawned
