Saurian is an Enemy in Dragon's Dogma 2. Saurian are lizard-like enemies with a large weakness regarding their tail. They wield a spear-like weapon, utilising a variety of moves to counter attacks and attack players.
Evolved from the lizard family, the scaly saurians mostly dwell near water and wield spear-like weapons. Dismembering their tails can weaken them and make them lose their will to fight.

Saurian Enemy Combat Guide for DD2
Saurians are scaly creatures that evolved from the lizard family. They are most commonly seen around water and use weapons that resemble spears. It is possible that some of these humanoid lizards are equipped with spears and can be challenging to deal with. It is possible to impair their strength and cause them to lose their will to battle if you dismember their tails. Because fire assaults are one of their weaknesses, you can also use them to your advantage.
Because they can block most frontal strikes with their spear and receive very little damage even if they don't, it's best to attack from behind. However, if you attack them from behind, you can simply destroy them by cutting off their tails.

Well something has changed in between first days and current state. When I started the game and just go to the moment I could fight saurians, the tails were dropping left and right. But currently they seem to drop very very rarely, even though I am always cutting the tails off. I went on a farming escapade and killed off all saurians in the waterfall cave (the one near starting point) - no tails drop, killed all in the stormwind cave near harve village - no tails drop, and then made my way from harve to vernworth using the path on the coast, slaughtering all the saurians.
And only on that last part I got TWO tails.

Other pages on here are saying the saurian tail is a drop you can get, they claim it has a 30% drop chance, i havent gotten one yet and i am on NG+

these and harpy's are the hardest enemy's in the game
