DD2 Martyr's Bolt Guide, Notes & Tips
- This is a weapon skill. Weapon skills are vocation-dependent — though some vocations share the same weapons, they might not have access to the same weapon skills. Executed by pressing the corresponding weapon skill button.
- Skills in Dragon's Dogma 2 are various passive and active abilities that the player can assign to the Arisen and their Pawns for use during combat. Some Skills are only usable depending on the Vocation of the character, while other Skills are dependent on the Weapon the character is using.
- Some Skills are shared between Vocations — when you buy a Skill shared by 2 or move Vocations, it can be accessed by any Vocation that can use it and doesn't have to be purchased again when swapping Vocations.

You can in fact down yourself with this skill, if you do while charging the shot is interrupted and wasted. I would suggest having wakestones if your going to rely on it for downing bigguns. Wakestones restore your loss gauge to full when reviving yourself.

The absolute "**** you" to all those Drakes and Griffins that run away after getting beat up for interrupting your stroll.

If you're looking for a cheap way to insta-kill a drake in the low-30s range, this is what you want. Recent drake victim from a level 32 magic archer arisen who leveled as thief, which means I had low magic gains, and I still insta-gibbed a drake on the beach of volcanic island using the magic bow from the volcanic island shop (only 1st upgrade) and 90% of my HP.
The higher level you get, the less useful Martyr's bolt gets. People leveling into the 70+ range in unmoored world with dragonforged BiS equipment are going to have adjacent options which are more reliable and efficient.

After reaching endgame, if i use martyr's bolt i can't use all of my hp bar like before. Just use automatically a little amount, anyone knows why?

You can spam it by using Allheal Elixir that you can buy at Eldart's Apothecary the elven general store. Basically, an unmaking arrow that you can use with a much cheaper consumable.
This spell/ability is incredibly broken. Using an 'All-heal' in case you can't pull it off.. You can ONE-SHOT the Dragon at the end of the game by trading 90% (or more if you risk it) of your health. Don't do enough damage? pop an all heal and go again.
I was 40 Hours into the game, and level 46ish~

dont be confused by the word "temporary" like i was, the loss gauge is gone until you rest, makes using this a real commitment... not worth it for your run of the mill loadout imo but rather something you plan to bring for a specific fight
"temporary decrease to the user's maximum Health."
It doesn't mean the grey health, it means you'll need to go nap time soon after using this
