I actually had this book by the time I made my way to the ancient burial ground. I *think* it was from the Wight I fought in the Waterfall cavern.
Going by this, I think there may be real copies of all of these books. This book is required for both the Mage and Sorcerer Meister skills (along with four others).

It is in the cenotaph, able to be guided by a npc to the inner bowls where he will ring a bell and give you a key that unlocks likely a door in the cenotaph. The cenotaph is located above the ancient battlegrounds, which is navigable via: checkpoint rest town> top main road split> first secondary road or half destroyed path on the left> follow valley, a small balista emplacement is seen shortly before the wyrm and a armored cyclops fight. It is recommended someone would use the giant balista on the towers to 1 shot the wyrm, (must shoot through heart region, can achieve this via penetration unless it glitched from my shot after having to reload the fight after failing the fight).
SPECULATION: removal may cause the path to continue to be untravellable for the future as the ringing of the bell in the cenotaph seems to dispell creatures to keep the path relatively safe. The book may be a required part of this process to make it be a safe path.
If you sold it go to Ibrahim's Scrap Store in checkpoint rest town and buy it back.
