Petrification is a Debilitation in Dragon's Dogma 2. Petrification renders the target unable to move, resulting in the target's death. Debilitations are negative statuses with effects that range from inflicting damage at steady intervals to making the target vulnerable to a specific type of attack. They are not exclusive to the Arisen and their Pawns, but can be inflicted by WeaponsSkillsItems, and the environment upon their Enemies, granting a fierce edge in battle if applied wisely.

Dragons Dogma 2 Petrification Information

This debilitation can be inflicted by petrifying attacks. Continue to suffer such attacks and you will gradually turn to stone, preventing you from moving and shortly resulting in your death. Petrification must be cured quickly, lest you or your comrades be reduced to lifeless statues.

Note that an Arisen can still be cured when fully Petrified if a Wakestone is used. In the case of Pawns, once the petrification process reaches its end, the pawn is forfeit and cannot be saved by any means.
