Petrification is a Debilitation in Dragon's Dogma 2. Petrification renders the target unable to move, resulting in the target's death. Debilitations are negative statuses with effects that range from inflicting damage at steady intervals to making the target vulnerable to a specific type of attack. They are not exclusive to the Arisen and their Pawns, but can be inflicted by Weapons, Skills, Items, and the environment upon their Enemies, granting a fierce edge in battle if applied wisely.

Note that an Arisen can still be cured when fully Petrified if a Wakestone is used. In the case of Pawns, once the petrification process reaches its end, the pawn is forfeit and cannot be saved by any means.
