Benches are special seats you can find in set locations in Dragon's Dogma 2. Benches have a red cloth and a lantern placed on a wooden bench and are used to wait and give you the option to doze off to skip to a specific time of day, whether it is to complete specific Quests or to find a specific NPC. However, some of the items in your inventory may also be affected by the slight time skip such as food. You can often find benches near different settlements and towns before setting off to explore the outside environment.

What are the Benches in Dragon's Dogma?
Benches are used to skip a certain time by using the option to doze off when you sit on the bench, often used to skip morning to afternoon, afternoon to evening, evening to night, or night to morning. This option can be used to skip ahead through the day to do some quests that are only available to you at a specific time of day. However, there are timed quests where if you wait too long, you will potentially fail the quest if you fail to accept the quest in a specific amount of time. Passing time will also affect your food, such as an apple. Passing a certain time will ripen the apple which will heal you more, but passing more time will cause the apple to get rotten and will poison you through the span of a few days if eaten.

How to Use Benches in Dragon's Dogma 2?
Benches can be seen around and near known settlements and towns for you to use to pass the time. You can simply interact with the bench by clicking it to sit down and you will have the option to "Doze Off". This is a good option if you want to pass a smaller amount of time compared to staying at an Inn or setting up camp for the night.
How Much Does Time Pass on Benches in Dragon's Dogma 2?
A shorter amount of time passes when dozing off at a bench compared to staying at an inn or setting up camp. This is helpful for quests or searching for NPCs but will also affect some of your food items.
