Battahl is a Location in Dragon's Dogma 2. Battahl is a kingdom of Beastren, a new race introduced in this sequel game, who live in their nation with their own unique culture and traditions. Vermund on the other hand is a human kingdom, ruled over by the Sovran, a royal line of Arisen that comes into power by defeating the Dragon generation after generation. Each region consists of various different Locations that players will be able to explore as they desire, each packed with many Enemies, NPCs, Equipment, and Items to find in chests and even various Quests to uncover and complete.
Battahl is a nation of beastren defined by its own unique culture. The steep canyons in Battahl still hold ancient ruins, and cities have been constructed amidst them. The culture, customs, and beliefs of Battahl have been nurtured by their harsh natural environment and differ from those of Battahl.
Battahl Region in Dragon's Dogma 2
Battahl is a nation established by a new race introduced in this sequel game called the Beastren. Beastren are humanoid beings with features of beasts such as their mane, the prominent part of their faces, and their skin or fur. So far Beastren has mainly been shown to have features of prominently feline creatures, like lions and leopards. Nevertheless, this race promises to be ferocious and tremendously formidable in battle. So far, the conflict surrounding the Beastren which the player will seemingly dive into revolves around the Beastren's empress, a woman called Nadinia.
Battahl offers a whole new experience distinct from the previous game. With the introduction of an entirely new race in the Beastren, players will have the opportunity to experience a new environment along with the inevitable conflicts that can be drawn from the clashing of different cultures. Battahl's unique culture derived from the traditions at the heart of the Beastren's spirit, and from the ruins that their civilization has sprouted around brings about new challenges for the Arisen. The different Locations within promise to be filled with dynamic new characters, not just in the form of new NPCs, but also in a variety of new types of Enemies.

Dragon's Dogma 2 Battahl Other Maps and Notes
- Normally, in order to reach Battahl, you have to pass through the Checkpoint Rest Town while possessing either the Beastren Border Entry Permit (which requires the permit holder to be a Beastren or to pass off as one by wearing the Beastren Mask), Border Entry Permit (allows basic border access to Battahl, but not staying inside Bakbattahl for too long) or Battahl Residence Permit (which also grants residence at Bakbattahl and the guards would no longer become hostile for staying in the city for more than a few days, although housing is sold seperately). However, it is possible to reach Battahl early without owning any of the permits by entering there through the alternate path at the river exit on the right of the Checkpoint Rest Town while fighting through a series of strong enemies, or through the Guerco Cavern.

There's a way you can cross through behind the checkpoint by jumping off the bridge leading to the checkpoint, and following the dried up riverbed West through some caves. There's tons of enemies, and they're at decently high level, so you wanna be around 20+ if you plan to fight them.

For those who want to go to Battahl without permission, just wait until a cart appears and pass with it
You could also cross the border by following the stream next to the town. Just be aware that it seems to be constantly raining - and because of that - you will not be able to keep your lantern on in the dark.
I also encountered a cheeky little drake that thought it was being cute by casting meteors on my butt as I tried to rush down the cliffs with my party intact.
