Myrddin Dragon's Dogma 2 Notes & Tips
- Myrddin will not talk to anyone of low rank/bearing. You must be dressed like a noble and wearing the Courtly Breeches and Courtly Tunic.
- Upon achieving sufficiently high affinity with Myrddin, he may offer an escort quest at his home in Checkpoint Rest Town to the middle of Vernworth. He delivers this letter on making the request: "You are that rare thing: a person equally noble in word and in deed. What's more, you are surprisingly difficult to fathom, e'en for one with my intellectual faculties. As such, I wish for you to join me on a jaunt, that I might further my understanding by deepening our acquaintance. - Myrddin"
- Upon completing the escort, he delivers this letter: "'Twould seem that a perfunctory observation is insufficient to gain an insight into the depths of your true nature. So be it; after all, one need not know everything--and, if naught else, an enigmatic Sovran ought to make this world a far more interesting place. - Myrddin"
I went into his house and he is aggro against me. I am wearing just the Courtly stuff, the chest and leggings.
Wait. I went upstairs and invaded his house coming downstairs. Reloaded the save and took stuff from upstairs, went outside the home, then went to the front door and the mission starts normally.

Also,if you refuse to tell Myrddin, who taught you Meteoron. He will get angry that you are withholding information from him & refuse to teach you further.

If you've already learned "Meteoron" from "Trysha". Upon giving "Myrddin" the books, he will inquire about Trysha. If you tell him, you learned it from her, Myrddin will become angry & refuse to teach you "Maelstrom".

Accept his escort quest and watch as he'll solo the Dragon with his busted one-shot maelstrom.

So I snuck into his house and he attacked me. I didn’t fight him and just ran away, but now it’s been in-game weeks and approaching his house no longer triggers the dialogue interaction.
Did I accidentally lock myself out of this quest?

There's a small unique dialogue if you bring him to Trysha's house during his escort quest, but nothing really useful.
Also don't just ferrystone to vermund in his escort quest. He's a formidable ally and can easily kill drakes and such, so make sure to use him.

You only need to give him 3 of the 5 counterfeit and he'll give you 11,000 gold, Ares Morpho Robe as well the scroll to teach you and your main pawn Maelstrom

If you walk up to the house to initiate the prompt, and if the kid is snug against the door, he won't walk out but you'll be stuck waiting in between dialogues seemingly forever.
Save before approaching.

If he doesn't want to come out of the house when you wear the courtly tunic and pants, just tell your pawns to wait, when you are at the front of his house, he will come out then.

You can kill him by sneaking into through the second story window. He'll forget he locked the door and try to run out of it while you walk up to him menacingly.

If you parkour into his house while he doesn’t want you there, he will be come hostile

He will take forgery books so can can complete the other character that needs them
Important for NG+:
If you already did Trysha's quest with the good outcome and got her Maister skill, upon speaking with Myrddin, he will mention that the spell is special and demands to know where you get it from. If you don't tell him, he'll get upset even more and then refuses to cooperate in future, ending his quest (A Sorcerer's Appraisal). If you tell him you got it from Trysha, he will then TEMPORARILY refuse to work with you, until you show him the ring Trysha gives to you, proving your friendship. Only then does he continue to aid you.
Also, little fun fact, if you get his escort request and have him follow you all the way back to Trysha's house, both characters will make a small comment (I think Myrddin says "What is the meaning of this" followed by Trysha saying something along the likes of "Forgive me, Ser"). Nothing else aside from that happens, though.
