Ancestral Chamber is a Location in Dragon's Dogma 2 (DD2). Locations in Dragon's Dogma 2 largely take place between the two nations of Vermund and Battahl which consist of settlements, outposts, towns, shops, caves, caverns, and a variety of places.
Ancestral Chamber Map Details
- Ancestral Chamber is found just southeast from Sacred Arbor. [See Dragon's Dogma 2 Map]
- Ancestral Chamber has a secret connection to Melve. To unlock it, you first need to finish the side quest, A Trial of Archery. Afterwards, sleeping at an inn and save-loading your file might be needed to reset the monsters in the Ancestral Chamber. Then, you must approach from the Sacred Arbor side AT NIGHT and make your way to the area with the chest that contains Eminent Cloak. Explore around until you find some steps leading down. Tell your pawns to wait and get near the door, aggroing the skeletons on the other side. They will attack and break the door and give you a path.

To open the final door, take a pawn and trying to place it in the right corner of the door frame. Once you leave them, they will go through the door and open it.

The elf archer quest-line that takes you here is indeed required for the skeletons to spawn. You might as well do the quest-line first. The reward is super worth it.

This place is an actual nightmare fuel. I went back in here after Trial of Archery quest to get a chest i missed and suddenly the cave was repopulated by some giant warg werewolves, rabid harpies or some, and crazed goblins on cocaine or some ****.
And then there was this huge 2 feet tall jacked skeleton which probably belonged to Kratos or Dwayne Jhonson who kept stunlocking me and my pawns into oblivion. I managed to finally get to the last chest and then it gave me an Savagery Extract. 10/10 experience...

Actually **** this place brother. I went back here after Trial of Archery quest to get a chest I missed and the cave was reclaimed by giant warg werewolves, rabid harpies and crazed goblins on cocaine or some ****.
And then after the locked door there was a gigantic skeleton which probably belonged to Kratos who kept stunlocking me and my pawns into oblivion...

I hate it when the game relies on random enemy to break the lock for you. Just give us an actual route or secret pathway to the other side of the door smh

I was not able to get any skeletons to spawn until I finished the Gift of the Bow > A Trial of Archery quest line. The quest line takes you to the ancestral chamber, so maybe it has something to do with it?
Anyway, once I completed the quest, I
1: Went to the nearest camp and slept till morning, night, morning and night again.
2: Went into the ancestral chamber, no enemies were spawned.
3: Went to a tree towards the right hand side of the final chamber before the locked door.
4: Saved and quit to menu, then reloaded the game.
When I did this, the skeletons and a bunch of goblins spawned.
Apparently, it might also be possible to glitch a pawn through the door frame by picking them up and putting them down.

Skeletons will help you unlock the door at night. They will spawn on the other side of the door and can break the lock. If you can't find them, save, go back to the main menu and reload.

Anyone know how to open the shortcut door? (Elf area to Melve)

To easily open the locked door next to where you encounter the ogre:
-grab and place a pawn #1 in the right corner of the door
-grab pawn #2 and place them in front of pawn #1
-walk into and push pawn #2 into pawn #1, this will make pawn #1 clip through the door
-pawn #1 will now attack the barricade and open the door for you
