Affinity drops a little every day when you don't talk to people. You can gain affinity quite easily with Jasper, Onyx and Tiger's eye (+50), Dragon's eye (+60), so the ring is really useful for the 1st part (+10% affinity). I've kept one ring to wear on my main pawn (for RP purposes), as it doesn't change the affinity points of your main pawn at all. The only way to gain affinity points is to talk to them every day (+2), clap at the end of a fight (+5), take a vocanic bath (+10, not sure) and have a haircut (+20, not sure either). I've seen how the affinity system works thanks to a mod that makes the bar visible.
      I hope I've helped you.

I gave this to my pawn and I swear they started blushing when I talked to them. I also convinced myself that their dialogue options have changed. Did I gaslight myself? Does this ring do anything to change a pawn when they have it equipped?

I give Doireann this ring along with other gifts, do multiple escort quests for her, and I still end up with Ulrika as my highest affinity character. Doireann isn't even in the top 3 according to the end credits. Reminds me of my last playthrough of the first game. I do my best to make Aelinore my beloved, give her the Arisen's Bond, and somehow I still get Madeleine. It's nice to see the affinity system is just as perplexing and ridiculous as it was in the original game, lol. I don't really care that much since there's far less significance to whoever the dragon abducts in this game compared to the first game.
